Christmas Book Order Form

Even though we’re just now at the end of October, it’s not too early to be thinking about Christmas! John Greer band students have the option of ordering a book of Christmas music if the choose. Here is a link to the order form for a Christmas book: Christmas Book Order Form. This order form was sent home earlier this week with the band students and is due by Monday, November 3. Ordering a book is not required, but it is a lot of fun to play Christmas music during the holiday season and is a great way to encourage practice!

Music Booster Auction – performance and help needed

Information regarding the music booster fundraiser auction being held on Saturday, November 15th was sent home a few weeks ago. We have had many businesses and individuals donate items for the auction, and now we’re looking for your help! Please see the attached letter regarding how we are asking parents and students to help at the auction. This letter was sent home with chorus students today and will be sent home with band students on Monday. You can download the letter here:  Auction Letter

Thanks for your support of the Hoopeston Area Music Boosters and in turn, the John Greer Band!

Music Booster Meeting and Fundraiser Info

There will be a music booster meeting at 6:00pm tomorrow in the middle school chorus room. All are welcome to attend!

The music boosters will not be selling their All-Star Calendar this year. The main fundraiser this year will be an auction. Information regarding the music booster fundraiser was sent home with band students today. The music boosters are hosting an auction on Saturday, November 15th and have reached out to local businesses for donations of goods, services, or gift certificates. The information sent home with students today describes the auction and there is a sheet attached for donations. If you are interested in donating an item or service for the auction, or would like to contribute a monetary donation to be put toward the purchase of items for the auction, please complete the donation form and return to school with your child by November 1st. If you have a business and were already approached by the music boosters, please disregard the donation page unless you are interested in making a personal donation.

Students can be involved in three ways:

1 – If they have a service they would like to donate. I used snow-shoveling as an example this morning. They could donate a certificate good for 3 sidewalk snow-shovelling services. This of course requires parent permission and the completion of the donation form.

2 – If they have a good they’d like to donate. For example, some students have been making hair bows. Items like these would be included in gift baskets with other items. This requires the completion of the donation form.

3 – Performing at the auction. Students will be encouraged to perform at the auction.

There will be more information as we get closer to the auction. Please contact myself or any of the music booster officers if you have questions or would like to help!
